Lovely old country pub with large dining area and outdoor seating on the eastern side near the train line, which isn't that much of a problem given the infrequency of the train services. Standard pub grub, I had bangers and mash and it was quite good. Not quite accessible but it is an old place, so that makes it a bit tricky.
Clean comfortable room. They have done a nice job of refinishing an older style motel. Friendly helpul staff. Nice stroll to great cafes and walking distance to pub. We booked based on the fact it had a pool for the kids but this was unfortunately unusable as it needed a cleaning so that was a bummer. Take an eye shade if you are easily woken by light as the room gets light as soon as the sun comes up. Still a good spot to stop for a couple of nights.
